Experience London's most affordable BYOB pottery wheel class!

Bring Your Own Bottle! And enjoy the fun, friendly and relaxing practise of throwing, with the choice of having your own pots fired in the kiln and glazed professionally.

Perfect for beginners looking to dive into the therapeutic world of wheel throwing. Create your own vessels and pots, starting potentially with a cup.

Whether you're in the class to practise, discover, fun or leave with a finished piece, our expert's guidance  (with over 12years of experience) at Maison S.Sommet the team will help you make a step toward mastering clay centring and crafting unique pots.

What you'll get:
Your chosen pieces can be professionally glazed and fired for an additional fee of £5 only.  

Select from 2 beautiful stoneware glazes (blue or clear)- food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe. 

We provide prepared clay, tools, and aprons - just dress to get messy and remember to trim those nails. 
Step into our inviting and intimate studio, where classes are limited to 12 attendees for small group experience. 

You will be contacted via a text message to collect your fired pieces in about 3-4weeks time.

Maison S.Sommet’s  BYOB clay throwing ( just off the old Kent Road with parking available)  offers two hours of gentle artistic bliss, though honestly, it’s the sort of experience you’ll wish could go on for twice as long. We arrived as a family of five, plus our dog, and were met by our warm and endlessly patient hostess and teacher, Tanvi. Let me tell you, Tanvi is the sort of calm, guiding presence who could probably talk you through nuclear disarmament with a smile. Her instructions were clear, her encouragement unwavering, and somehow she made even the most clumsy among us feel like they had a shot at creating a masterpiece.

The atmosphere was delightfully intimate. It felt safe and welcoming, like you could fully embrace your inner creative without a hint of judgement. Tanvi’s talent lay not just in her own pottery skills but in her ability to make everyone believe they had a little Michelangelo in them. And while our clay works won’t be gracing any galleries anytime soon, they’re priceless to us.

There’s something genuinely therapeutic about moulding clay, your hands covered in the earthy, tactile material, letting your imagination (and your glass of wine) do the rest. It felt like the perfect escape from the chaos of everyday life. Honestly, we’d have stayed forever if we could. I highly recommend giving this a go if you’re looking to unwind and reconnect with your creative side—it’s an utterly brilliant way to spend an afternoon. Plus, who wouldn’t want to come home with something handmade and a sense of accomplishment? We’ll definitely be back.

Great experience & lots of fun. We each had our own wheel and got to make as many items as we liked, so we had lots of practice (in comparison to other pottery experience reviews I'd read). The instructor was excellent, explained everything well and helped where needed. There was 8 of us in the class so it didn't feel crowded and we got enough attention per person. You can keep your pieces and get them painted & fired for just £5 extra which is great value. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend! Thank you :)

We had a great time.  The studio is light and airy and well-equipped.  Jess, who was our instructor,  was lovely - clear instructions and demonstrations which she was happy to repeat as many times as needed.  She was on hand at all times with help and advice and lots of praise and encouragement.  It says BYOB but everyone was so keen to make something that no alcohol was drunk, though there was a lovely atmosphere. 4 pottery wheels per table meant we chatted to the other people on our table which added to the friendly vibes. I've done a bit of pottery before but Jess gave me a couple of tips that were simple but made a difference  so that I was able to make a couple of little pots that looked quite pot-like!
